My name is Laura Hahn and I am the designer behind Faux Huntress Ink. Creating beautiful and engaging designs and well-written content for my clients brings me so much pleasure! Originally, I majored in English and Art at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. My dual bachelor's degrees provide me with a sound foundation in the visual arts and in writing in a variety of modes of discourse.
Next, I earned my master’s degree in Education from Regis University. I have worked as a public high school art and design teacher since 2009. As the electives department leader, I was responsible for the budget and ordering of yearly materials. Additionally, I managed and mentored a team of teachers, which included instructional coaching and participating on the hiring team.
I began freelance graphic design and content creation work in 2018, under the name Faux Huntress Ink. In 2020, I earned my Graphic Design certificate at UC San Diego. Teaching about art and design while working in the field has been one of the most informative aspect of my own creative process. My experience as an instructor has refined my understanding of composition, color-theory, universal design and improved my skills as a photographer.
My design work celebrates passion and connection. My thirst for knowledge and my love of language inspire the content of my work. I also resist art and design that takes itself too seriously and seek to include humor and whimsy. My aesthetic comes from my admiration of both modern and vintage style. Living in the historic Baker neighborhood, just south of Denver’s dynamic downtown, is a source of constant inspiration. I love to hike Colorado’s trails, travel the world and spend time with my family, friends and pets.
